The Royal Air Forces Association main web site www.rafa.org.uk gives full information about joining the Association. You can now join 'on line'. If every current member can 'sign up' just ONE new member a year, our membership would be increased dramatically. Members will certainly not come through your Branch/Club entrance, you need to go out looking for them. We are not asking you to go out everywhere wearing a blazer and slacks along with the RAFA tie - it only takes a couple of minutes talking to people, and even if the person you chat to is not ex RAF, they can still be a Branch Associate.

A typical example recently is one of our members went by Taxi to a function, and got chatting to the driver, who just happened to be ex RAF, and did not know that there was a local RAF Association Branch in his town! Proof beyond doubt that not all ex RAF are aware of the Association.

If you have contact with your local press, or free paper, try and have an advert placed in either or both of them. It could lead to some new members joining your Branch.

When you are out collecting for Wings Appeal, have a few words with those who donate, don't just say 'thank you' - who knows who you may be speaking to!

Printed 'Business' Cards with your Branch details can be an asset too, just carry a few in your wallet or handbag, and if someone shows an interest in the Association, hand them a card, and ask the person to get in touch if they are interested. Invite them to your Branch or Club for an evening, - give them an insight to what RAFA is about.

The future of the RAF Association is in YOUR hands.
