At the September
4th Meeting of the Region, Alan Robson, the North East Welfare
Officer attended and gave a very good report on Welfare aspects
to the assembled Delegates. The Region are stepping in another
direction, in an effort to be much more pro-active. It is
believed that the aim to bring in specialist speakers on various
subjects will encourage Region Delegates to be more active, and
involve others from their own Branches.
The next Region
Meeting will be held on Saturday 4th December 2010 at the
Officer's Mess, RAF Linton on Ouse, at 1200hrs, when the new
Station Commander Group Captain Terry Jones MA RAF will welcome
the Region Delegates and visitors in the Garraway Room of the
Officer's Mess. John Allison the Station Civil RAFALO will
introduce the Station Commander.
After a great
deal of effort in trying to get someone interested enough to
come forward and take on the role of Web Site coordinator, in
support of our Web Master Ian Scales, we are most grateful to Mr
Ian Russell of Hull in volunteering for the work, to take over
from John Allison. Work has been done to the site, to indicate
the take over by Ian. In future contact should be made with Ian
Russell, when they have items they wish to be added to the Web
Site. Ian can be contacted on 01482 804178 or E Mail irussell@irussell.karoo.co.uk
Grateful thanks go to Ray Maudson the Hull Branch
President/Chairman for his work in getting Ian interested in the
continuance of the Web Site. It is also important to note that
it is Hull Branch who currently support the Web Site
financially.
It is now up
to the Branches to produce information for the web site, which
was set up with Branches and Membership in mind, to be able to
advertise their Branch and its functions. Please support your
Region.
There will be a
Region Standard Bearer's Competition in 2011. It is important
for the future that these competitions are continued, it enables
the Region to be represented at the Area Standard Bearers
Competition, and could easily lead to the opportunity to go
forward to the National Competition.

Our Ex Region
Secretary, John Allison, amongst his other RAFA interests, is
now working from an office at RAF Linton on Ouse, one day a week
(Thursdays). It is believed that Linton is the first RAF Station
to have an RAF Association member based on it, which gives the
added incentive to have RAFA working closer with the RAF. John's
work includes his involvement on a number of RAF event
committees. He was the Joint Project Officer for the recent very
successful 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain Parade
& Service in York and York Minster.
Please note that
